CacheZero is an open source CLI tool I built that turns bookmarks into an AI-compiled personal wiki. It was built in April 2026, inspired by a tweet from Andrej Karpathy that received 17 million views.
Origin
Karpathy tweeted about wanting a tool that dumps everything you read into a folder and lets an AI compile it into a personal wiki. He ended with: “I think there is room here for an incredible new product instead of a hacky collection of scripts.”
I built it. My tweet: “@karpathy said ‘I think there is room here for an incredible new product instead of a hacky collection of scripts.’ So I built it. One command. Your bookmarks become a living, AI-compiled wiki. Open source. Free. npx cachezero@latest init” (7 likes).
Development
I published 10 versions in 3 hours during development, embodying my shipping philosophy. The project is open source.
I also published an X article about the tool as part of my online presence: “How to Build the Second Brain Karpathy Asked For (in 4 Commands).”
