Viaprize (@viaprize) was a web3 bounty and prize platform where I worked from approximately 2023 to 2024, while I was still in college. Founded by Noah Chon Lee, the project served as my entry point into international travel, the broader blockchain community, and a working style I would later describe as being a “nomad developer.”

Nomad developer life with Viaprize

Role and work environment

I joined Viaprize through the web3 community, coming from my earlier agency work at Gesturs. I described the founder as a friend: “founder is our friend, he is a great guy @noahchonlee.” The work environment was relaxed and self-directed: “Working at @viaprize is just awesome and relaxing. I have good freedom to work anytime I want and very less pressure from the founder” (February 2024).

Travel

The Viaprize role led to significant international travel for me:

  • Thailand for the Mu Accelerator program (October 2023)
  • zanzibar with the team (May 2024) Viaprize in Zanzibar
  • Formative Impact event (June 2024)

Through the Viaprize and Zanzalu connection in zanzibar, I met Vitalik Buterin. I reflected on the lifestyle the role afforded me: “Being a nomad developer is super fun! Thank you @noahchonlee who has shown me what can be achieved” (October 2023).

Projects and contributions

I contributed to Gitcoin donation workflows through Viaprize, claiming the team “changed the whole web3 donation system” with a simplified Gitcoin contribution flow (August 2024). At a project showcase in November 2023, I pitched “twin protocol,” described as “a protocol to have global token on multiple chains.”

I expressed satisfaction with the work’s impact: “There is nothing more fun and satisfying than you seeing the project you worked on is being used on regular basis” (January 2024).
